    Charlene Hall

    June 28, 1924 - May 14, 2017

Charlene Helen (Goode) Hall, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2017, at Longview, Texas. She was a career homemaker and servant of Christ. She was born July 28, 1924, in Osceola, Arkansas. She moved to California with her mother and brothers in 1938 upon the death of her father and later met and married her husband of 51 years, the late George C. Hall, Jr., in San Diego. Due to her husband's career in the American steel industry, she lived in California, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland and Ohio before settling permanently in Daingerfield, Texas in 1954, where she lived for 59 years. She moved to Longview in 2013. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Daingerfield, where she served in many leadership capacities over the years. She enjoyed personal and group Bible study, and had an individual ministry at the local nursing home in Daingerfield, where she frequently visited, comforted and encouraged residents for over 45 years. Charlene was a decedant of a Revolutionary soldier, Thomas Goode. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Goode and Rachel Vandiver Goode, and brothers William Goode, Charles Goode and O.B. Goode, Jr.. She is survived by three sons, David C. Hall and wife, Judy Hall of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Daniel C. Hall and wife, Candy Sue Hall of Tyler, and Christopher B. Hall and wife, Lynne Hall of Longview. Other survivors include her beloved grandchildren, Amy Hall Loosier, Jeffery Hall, Marci Hall Christopher, Aaron Hall, Marc Hall, Ryan Hall, Emily Hall Stambaugh, and Peter Hall. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she also cherished. She will remain in our hearts, precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, especially her dear friends Pat Lefevre and Betty Wilson. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Nail-Haggard Funeral Home, Daingerfield, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am Thursday, May 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Daingerfield, with Pastor Norman Crisp officiating. Interment will follow at Daingerfield Cemetery.
