    DURRANT LOLAND McMURRIAN

    December 23, 1918 - June 21, 2011

    Durrant Loland "Mac" McMurrianDaingerfield - Services for Mr. McMurrian, 92, of Daingerfield, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Gilliam officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mr. McMurrian passed away at his homeTuesday, June 21, 2011. Mr. McMurrian was born December 23, 1918 in Nashville, Arkansas. to Homer N. and Sallie McMurrian. His early life was spent in Nashville and Mine Creek, Arkansas and then in Mount Vernon, Texas. He married Thelma Jo Player on August 18, 1939. Mr. McMurrian served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He attended business college in Dallas. He was employed by Southwestern Electric Power Company as manger for the Daingerfield local office for 33yrs. He retired in 1982. Mr. McMurrian was also owner/operator of "Mac's Washateria" in Daingerfield for almost 45yrs. Mr. McMurrian is survived by his wife of 72yrs., Thelma Jo McMurrian; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Judy McMurrain; and sister Pauline Covington of Denver, Colorado. Also cherishing his memory are grandchildren: Daniel McMurrain and wife, Brenda, of Dekalb, Texas; Braden McMurrian and wife, Crystal, of Pleasant Grove, Texas; and Megan McMurrian of Daingerfield. Survivors also include 4 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Skyler, Lilly, and Dillon; 6 great-grandchildren: Trestin, Tristen, Madison, Anthony, Preston and Trent; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. McMurrian was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers: Haskell McMurrian, Homer McMurrian and John Shurtleff; and by his sister, Maxine Shurtleff and great grandson, Xander McMurrian.Family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Daingerfield Online condolences may be made at Nail-Haggardfh.com
