    October 30, 1924 - November 16, 2012

    Daingerfield - Funeral services for Helen Ocille Terrell Phillips, 88, of Lone Star, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at South Union Baptist Church, with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Clark Cemetery, Jenkins, Morris County, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Helen Was born October 30, 1924 in Electra, Texas in Wichita County, and went to be with her Lord on Friday, November l6, after a brief illness. She attended school in Daingerfield and married Thomas C. (Doc) Phillips, Jr., on May 12, 1945. She worked in Daingerfield and Lone Star for many years and was retired from Wyatt Pharmacy in Lone Star. She loved her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, especially her roses. She was a wonderful cook and always had cake and coffee waiting for visitors. She loved playing games and was never happier than when she was playing 42 with all her friends at Lone Star Gadabouts Senior Citizen Club or a game of Yahtzee with the kids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clayborn Phillips, Jr., father, Claude Clinton Terrell and mother, Muggie Lola Parsons Terrell; brothers, Tullie H., Ullie C. (as a young child), Vernon D., J. Clifford, T. Cecil, her twin (at birth), and Billie Joe, and one sister, Hazel M. Barnett.Survivors include daughter Sandra Travis and husband Mark of Sunnyvale, son Steve Phillips of Lone Star, granddaughters Heather Lynch and husband Jon of Frisco and Wendy Wilson and husband Chad of Mesquite, great-grandchildren Helena and Ava Lynch and Sheryl and Brenden Wilson of Mesquite, and one brother, Royce W. Terrell and wife Margaret of Daingerfield. Helen leaves many nieces, nephews and more friends than you can count, and she loved each and every one of them and they all loved her. She served as officer of Gadabouts Club, was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, and was an active member and officer in Sunday School at her beloved church, South Union Baptist, for many years.Family will receive friends from 4:00 'til 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18 at the funeral home.Online condolences may be made at Nail-HaggardFH.com
